The unpopular task of the annual tax collection in Babble vale is the responsibility of the local
constable. This elected official spends one day towards the close of Summer's End visiting every
household and business in Babble Vale, collecting the required moneys. The taxes are kept safely
under lock and key in the constable's residence until the tax collector from Vollmer arrives to take
payment in the Kings name. The prosperous Havanathe generally don't have trouble paying the quite
reasonable taxes (and there is always a neighbor handy if a small loan is needed). Like most folk
anywhere in the Kingdom of Langington, they tend to think they don't get to see much returned benefit from
their hard earned taxes - leading to the occasional bit of half-hearted complaining, but being good
honest folk they do their duty to the King and country.
Taxes in the other hamlets might be collected by the local mayor or most powerful family.
